Congratulations to our Mock Trial team for advancing to the Pennsylvania Bar Association State Tournament! The team qualified as one of three teams advancing from the Delaware, Bucks, and Chester County region last evening. The State Tournament, composed of the top 16 teams from the nearly 300 competing in Pennsylvania, will be held virtually on Friday, March 26th, and Saturday, March 27. The winner of the state tournament will advance to the national mock trial competition in May in Evanville, IN. This year's team members (listed alphabetically) are: Maisy Denn '21, Grace Donnelly '22, Julia Flatley '21, Molly Murphy '22, Mairead O'Hara '21, Bella Privitera '22, Ava Tedeschi '22, Olivia Tingley-Kelley '22, Nina Thompson '22, Emma Whitman '21. The team is moderated by teacher and Social Studies Dept. Chair, Mr. Paul Clementi, J.D. with the support of Mathematics teacher Shana Rightley and attorney coach John Dougherty, J.D. (husband of Jackie Caserta '03). The 2021 team is the third Merion Mercy team to advance to the state tournament in school history, joining the 2015 and 2018!
